This home was a design build collaboration with Abrigo Home. The site required extensive consideration with building setbacks and heights, which informed the homes shape and size. Boasting an 1100 square foot dock with boathouse, outdoor kitchen, and living areas, this home makes the most of its waterfront setting. The home has a steel super structure which allows for its expansive glass walls and large widnows. Modern design and our custom cabinetry adorn every inch of this unique home. It also is incredibly efficient and comfortable.
This home was designed by the talented architecture firm, Kaplan Thompson, located in Portland, ME. This home was designed to perfom at the highest rated level, Passive House certified. The construction of the home is reffered to as an envelope home where all the exterior walls are made up of two independent walls, providing a 12" thick cavity for insulation. We used energy trusses for the roof which also recieved a full fill of dense pack insulation. Extreme attention to taping at every peneteration inside and out, a vapor open wall and roof assembly, solar, triple glazed windows, and amazing aesthetic makes this one of our favorite homes. The owners enjoy net zero energy consupmption, clean air from its Zehnder ERV and HRV ventilation, and the solar array on the roof provides enough net metered energy to have no utility bills. This was the lowest air exchange ever tested by our certifier, coming in at a mere .43 ACH. 1.5 ACH is considered Passive.
An existing home built in the early 2000's, the home sits across the street from the Atlantic Ocean, on a large wooded lot. The home underwent a deep energy retrofit with new windows, extensive air sealing, new insulation, some small additions, and solar. The interior of the home's layout was opened up and every room was remodeled. Our custom cabinetry completed the project, adding a comfortable and upscale setting.
A historic building in the heart of Portsmouth, this space was originally the storage space for the oldest mercantile in Portsmouth, Peaveys Hardware. The space was raw and unused for many years, with the old freight lift still in place, used hundreds of years to move products up between floors. Haven Hill Designed a new floor plan for the home and paid close attention to build around beams adorned with graffiti dating back as far as 1823. The freight lift was dismantled and resuspended above the new stairwell opening to pay homage to its roots. At 3800 square feet and a 800 square foot roof top deck, the space is incredible. All the flooring was original to the building and refinished. Bricks from the interor were taken down and used to build the pizza oven shown in the kitchen. It has been featured in NH Home Magazine and won the Portsmouth Kitchen tour.
This home sits on 45 acres in historic Newmarket, NH. A new home, the owner wanted single floor living with a large walk out basement where he would work on his Bonsai. Designed with Amy Dutton Home, the home is wrapped with a walking deck overlooking the forest, used by the owner for meditation. The open floor plan feels airy with vaulted ceilings and massive windows and doors. The show piece of the home is the kitchen which boasts a 12' long island with a waterfallign Claro Walnut live edge countertop which blends with soapstone. We built the kitchen drawers to open with a gentle push, so no hardware we visible.
